~Chapter 17~

I woke up at 8 and got ready for church I was going to wear a red and black low cut shirt with a black tank top with a black skirt and some red flats. While I was doing my hair mom walked in and started talking.

“Good Morning Ashley. I have some news.” She was fiddling with her purse while she talked.

“Good morning, OK what’s up?” I was almost done with my hair.

“Jeff is going to going be going to church with us from now on.
So I except you to behave yourself. And also Chris will be there also his mom is going with one of his friends so don’t bug him, unless he asks you to sit with him or some thing like that. K?” I wasn’t going to bother him! How could she think that! Oh well!
“OK Mom! If you don’t bug me when I am with Chris I won’t bug you that much with Jeff.” I really LOVED bothering Jeff it was funny so see he face get red! He Hee!
“OK now get ready I Jeff is taking us.”

“What!!! I don’t want to take his car!! It may look cool but that back seat is not cool!!
I am going to be crammed back there!!” I guess I was pleading, Mom hates it when I do that but I don’t want to go in the back seat.

“Oh…..He thought you would enjoy it cause you seemed to be interested in the car last night. After you went to be he called me and asked. So please don’t say anything!
Please!” OK I would do it for her, She has a ton for me, So this one thing would be good!
“OK, Fine but I am doing this for you!” She gave me a hug and said Thanks and then skipped off to the door when Jeff was here. I have never seen her skip! Ha Ha Ha! That’s funny! I put my hair stuff away and made my way down the stairs, Jeff was there.

“Wow Ashley. You look lovely!” I still can’t get over his eyes!!!

“Oh….thanks, You don’t look to bad your self.” You don’t know how much I wanted to poke fun out of him but I knew mom would get mad. Mom finally said some thing.

“OK are we ready to go?” She smiling so big it looked like it hurt! He he!

“Yep, But I have not had breakfast yet so I am going to get some thing at church.” I really was hungry but I could wait they had very good bagels. So we crammed into his car. It was a tight ride. We pulled up and I went straight to the café and got my bagel. I found mom and Jeff I sat with them till I saw Chris and his friend, I think his friends name was Eric but I am not really sure. Chris saw me and run/walked over to me. “Ash-Ash!!”
He picked me up in a hug, He was crushing me.

“Chris I can’t breath!” He laughed and put me down.

“It been forever since I saw you!” He said sarcastically.

“I know!!” We laughed and then he turned to my mom.

“Mrs. Smith you look great to day!” He smiled at her.

“Why thank you Chris, you look very handsome today as well.”
He turned to me. “Are you going to introduce me to ‘Jeff’?”
“Oh yes! Jeff this is Chris. Chris this is Jeff! There now we know each other!” I just wanted to sit and finish my breakfast.

“Nice to meet you Chris. I heard you to are going to be dating?”
I guess Jeff noticed that my face was red, He laughed and then said.
“You picked at me last night…..Now we are even!” He looked very pleased with him self.

“Yes I am planning on going to lunch with her today!” He turned and looked at me.
That was news to me….Did he talk to mom about that or was this not planned?

“Oh……I am? I don’t mean it like I don’t want to…..”

“Yep, so do you have anything going on?”

~Chapter 16~

When I pulled up I ran in the house to act like I had been there for a while but right as I closed the door they pulled up.
Man! What are they doing home so early? Wait…. I looked at the clock and it was 10:00 exactly! Wow!! Hes good! I kept all the lights off to make it look like I was not there.
So I went to the window that was right by the door. I saw him get out and run to her side to open her door for her. He walked her up to the door. I opened the window so I could hear what they were saying. Mom starting talking first. “I had fun. Thank you so much for that lovely evening.” He took a step closer to her. I wanted to ketch him right as he was going to kiss her!! He he! I agree I had a very nice time.” He leaned closer to her and she did to, and I opened the door right as he was going to kiss her!
“Hi Jeff!” Half laughing at that point. Mom and his faces went bright red!!

“Oh Hi Ashley your home……” Mom was trying to fill the weird silence at this point. I was still laughing.

Fighting to control me laughter I said. “Yep! I got home about 10 minutes ago. Oh yeah! Guess what?”

“What!” this time Jeff said some thing. I think he was kinda mad that I cot him!

“I have a boyfriend now!! Chris told me the way he felt!! And I did too!” I had a huge smile on my face till Mom’s disappeared. “What’s the matter Mom?” What was the problem? “Did you kiss him?” That question cot my off guard.
“Mom!! He kissed my forehead! But I should be asking the same question to you too!” I was so dead now but I thought it was pretty happy with my self when I saw Jeff’s face! I started laughing and mom was still pretty made about the last thing I said.

“OK kids! Say goodnight, I-” Mom cut me off!!

“OK that’s enough Ashley!” Wow! I have never seen mom get this mad in a long time!

“Goodnight Jeff. I am sorry about her.”

“Oh its OK, I understand. Will I still see you Monday for lunch?”

“Yes, Can’t wait.” Mom was serous…I think. Then I had to put in my comment.

“Oh you guys are going to try to kiss when I am in school no are you?” I was laughing again. This time they were laughing with me. Why were laughing with me?

“Bye Girls!” Jeff turned and walked back to his car. I never notices but he had a convertible mustang! It was Red!! “Cool car Jeff!” Did I really yell that?

“Thanks Ashley!” He turned and waved.

“Hey what year is it?” For some reason I really wanted to know.

“2010, Bye!” He was getting in his car now, I waved then shut the door.
Mom turned trod me but she didn’t look very happy with me. So I thought I could play around a bit.
“Hello Mother!” I had a big grin on my face. But she didn’t.

“ ‘Say goodnight kids?? Why? Why did you do that!! He probably thinks you are weird or even me!” I think she was serous.

“Mom I don’t think he thinks I am weird he knows that I am watching out for you! Which I am.”

“Yeah I guess, Anyway! So how did your study group go?” I think she was OK now.

“Oh it was great! We got though a chapter or caucuses. And I got to mean Mrs. Perch and she is very nice!”

“Um….That’s great but that’s not what I was I talking about….” Great she would not tell me about her night but when it came to mine it was all out there!
“Oh……He said that he could not figure out a problem and he handed me his book and then there was a note in it and I read it and here it is.” I handed her the note and she read it. “Oh that is SO sweet!! So he really likes you? And he kisses your head! So you did more then I did and I am your mother!”

“OK he was not going for the lips Mom like Jeff was!” Come on!! Is she ever going to get over it!

“Yeah that Is true but I am an adult and I can take care of myself!”

“Mom, even grown ups need help!” I had a little grin on my face at this point.

“You got that saying from Pastor Ben!” Now she was smiling!

“Yes, Yes I did! I like the saying! I have got to get to bed mom, And so do you. You need your beauty sleep.”I laughed at that and went to bed.

When I was brushing my teeth and washing my face I heard mom yell from her room. “Goodnight honey!” Then it was quiet! I walked to my room and pulled out my PJ’s and got dresses for bed, I pulled over to my bed and climbed in bed and right as my head hit the pillow I was asleep.

“Yes, I am ready” He held out hes hand and mom took it. AW!! That’s SO cute!!

“OK you guys, Have fun I am going over Chris’s house.” I was turning around to leave but I almost for got. “ Now you bring her home on time got it Jeff? By 10:00! No later then that!’ We all laughed. “I’m serious….On time!’ I laughed and walked out the door and was in the car, waiting for them to come out of the house. Finally they came out and walked to him car and he opened the door for her and she got in and Jeff waved to me and walked around to his side and got in. I pulled out and drove to Chris’s house. I pulled into his drive way and got out and walked to the front door and rang the door bell. He opened the door.

“Hey Ash-Ash! Come on in.” He smiled and led me to the living room where his mom was sitting and his books were all spread out on the coffee table.
“Hi Ashley! I’m Mrs. Perch, I have heard a ton about you. Chris really likes you.” She smiled then sat back down. I looked at Chris and his face was red as a tomato. I laughed.
Chris turned and looked at me like I was crazy. “What’s so funny?” He really didn’t get it. “Your face got all red and it made me laugh.” I was still smiling and his face got even redder. Mrs. Perch laughed also. I sat down and pulled out my books. Chris sat right next to me. Mrs. Perch sat on the couch and read her book that she pulled out.
OK lets get started” I finally said.

“OK but what subject first?”
“I thought we where going to study caucuses?”

He sighed and pulled out his book. “Yep, Yay! Can’t wait to get started!” He said sarcastically. We were about half way done with one chapter when he closes the book. “Ashley, So are you ever going to tell me about your mom and her date?” He had a big smile.

“Oh yes! I almost for got about that. Well he is a very nice guy. He has the most prettiest eyes in the world!! They are the softest brown eyes,” Then I noticed that Chris had little brown eyes too. Just his prettier cause they where very light and they looked like liquidly.

“OK Ashley, Snap out of it I get it he had pretty eyes!” It was like he was jealous. In the back round your could hear Mrs. Perch laughing.

“Sorry…….But he is a gentile man he opens the doors for mom and he is a really sweet guy.” I think that was all that I knew about him.

“Well it sounds like you and your mom have a crush on him.” I think he was trying to be nice but I think he was jealous.

“Yeah I guess I do but I know she makes my mom happy and that’s all that matters. I have not seen her that happy in a very long time.”

“Oh……..” Chris was looking at his book right now. For some reason I think I was boring him.

“Oh….am I boring you?” I can feel me cheeks heating up.
No!! I am just having trouble with this one equation. But I am listening to you. You like the guy.”

“O…..K…..Let me see..” I grabbed the book away from him and started reading and there was a sticky note and it said “Ashley Read” So I opened it but when I was opening it Mrs. Perch walked out of the room. She said some thing like “I am going to go to the little girls room Be right back.”
Oh my gosh! It said “Ashley I would like to tell you how I feel about you.
I have had a crush on you since I first saw you in the hallway. But I am OK if you don’t feel the same way about me. Please tell me the way you feel about me. Jenny said that I would have to ask you, I asked her already. She said she could not talk to you till I talked to you about the way I feel.”
I think I was on the verge of crying but I forced the tears back. I looked at him and his face was red again. I smiled and then looked down at the note again as I started to talk.
“Chris…..” I was still looking down at the note.
“Yes?”
I feel the same way……I was planning on telling you today also.” My face was red also I think.

“Really?” It sounded like he was surprised that I liked I’m. The he was serous again. “I am sorry I didn’t tell you in the beginning, I was stupid that I didn’t see it before I asked Kate out and I think I hurt to girls that I didn’t mean to hurt. I am really sorry. Will you for-” I cut him off.

“Of coarse I will!! I am sorry for mot being honest with you in the first place!” I lost control and kinda through myself at him and gave him a huge hug!! He sighed and huged me back, Right then his mom walked in and saw us and cleared her throat.
‘Hahem!!” She was smiling right now, I think she was trying not to laugh but was not doing that good of a job.

“Oh hey Mom” He said as his face went back to being red. I got a grip and sat next to him.

“Hey Kids, I am watching you!” She eyed me and it made me feel uneasy. She sat back down on the couch and opened her book and seemed be lost in t he book so we started talking.

In a whisper he started talking. “So Ashley would you be my girlfriend?”

“I thought you would never ask! Of cores!” I think I was blushing again but this time I didn’t care.
“But I will warn you, I am not the most charming guy in the world! I make mistakes.”

“Of cores you do you are human.” I smiled. Then I realized that it was about 9:30! Mom and Jeff will bat me home!!

“Oh My Gosh!!!” Jumping to my feet. I think I scared Mrs. Perch cause jumped too and thought I said no to Chris cause she started to say. “ Its Ok Chris she doesn’t have good tas-” But Chris cut her off.

“Mom!!!! No!!!” His face was red again. I laughed and then finished what I was going to say.

“No Mom and Jeff are going to beat me home if I don’t go now. And Jeff will get a kick out of that I am not going to give him that kinda of fun till about the 3 date!!” I was heading for the door with my books in my hand.

‘Oh….OK Bye Ashley it was a pleasure to meet you!”Mrs. Perch said as I was going out the door.
“Bye Chris and Mrs. Perch! I Waved and closed the door behind me, But Chris was coming out, He walked over to my car. I was opening it now I though in my books and was about to get in till Chris started talking.

“Ash-Ash” He was right by my door now. I didn’t mind him calling me that but if some one else did I would have to hurt them!

“Yes? What’s up? I said trying not to sound like I was in a hurry, Which I was in.

“See you Monday.”

I am a little confused now. “OK bye.” But before I could get in the car I was in a huge hug.

“Thanks for forgiving me Ash.” He put me down.

“Your welcome” He kisses my forehead, I Think I am going to faint!! It was only your head! Don’t be a woos. I got in the car and started it. Chris waved good by from the drive way till I could no longer see him.

Saturday is finally here.
Chris is coming over to day! What am I going to wear!! Wow I never thought I would ever say that, Oh well. I went over to my closet and started pulling out things. I pulled out a green long sleeve shirt and a pear of skinny jeans and put them out on my bed and stood back to see if I liked it. why do I have a green shirt? I don’t like the color green! And the jeans would be over doing it I think. So I stomped over to my closet and pulled out a baby blue shirt long sleeve shirt and a pear of regular jeans and a long necklace and put them on my bed and stood back, again. I liked this outfit, so I got dresses and then started to work on my hair and my make up. About an hour later I was done! YES!! I am done! I still have to get breakfast! I looked at the clock and it said 12:19. Great! I guess I will get Lunch instead! I went down the stairs, Mom was sitting at the table right now eating lunch and reading the news paper. What’s mom doing home now? “Mom? What are you doing home? Its Saturday and I am pretty sure the hospital is still open, so why are you not there?”
“Well good morning to you too, Before I answer that question answer mine, Why are you so……Is some one coming over?”
“Oh…..Yeah Chris is coming over and we are going to go to his place and study and just hang out. Why?”
“You look…..Like your not my little girl anymore.” It kinda looked like she was going to cry. “Oh…….Well I answered your question so will you answer mine?
“Oh, Right! I am here cause I got a day off. Oh yeah I have some thing to tell you. And you can’t be mad or storm out. Got it!” She laughed and then was serious again.
“Sure mom what’s up?” I made a sandwich and sat down across from her. She took a beep breath. “OK, At the hospital I have a partner and hes a great doctor and he asked me out to dinner tonight and I said yes…..” I think she was waiting for me to be mad so she cringed think she was waiting for me to blow up. But I am happy for her!
“Oh my gosh!! That’s GREAT!!! Now I we both have a boyfriend…Well kinda boyfriend for me…He still has not asked me out but tonight I am going to tell him the way I fell about him.” She looked shocked, Her mouth was wide open. “Mom you could catch bugs if you keep your mouth open like that.” I laughed and took a bite out of my lunch.“Wait….You Ok with this?”
‘Yeah what even makes you happy makes me happy! And its good to hear that you are back in the game. There is just one thing you have to do for me.”
“OK what’s that?”
“Let me meet him when he comes and picks you up.”
“Sure! OK he will be here at 4, He said that we are going to see a movie and then go to ‘The Show Case’.”
“Oh my gosh!! The Show Case!! That’s a very fancy place! One thing on the menu would take a month to pay it off!! Man!!”
“WoW!! Really?” She was surprised to hear that. Her mouth was open again.
“You are going to have to tell me everything when you get home!”
Her mouth close and she tried to talk but it was like she could not remember how to talk.
“Abbsdl…” I laughed so hard I started to cry.
Still laughing “Mom are you OK? Try saying it one more time but this time with words!”
She laughed and tried again. “Ok…I will tell you about it when you get home tonight. Oh yeah when is Chris picking you up?”

“Oh he’s not picking me up I am driving.”

“OK so what time are you heading over there?”

“He is going to call me or txt me.”
“Oh….OK……”I am going to get ready. Would you like to help me pick some thing out?
What’s with mom she’s never asked me to help pick out what she is going to wear!
“Sure! Can I do your hair!? Or am I pushing my luck?” She smiled.

“OK but I am going to pick out the style!”

“SWEET!! Lets go!!” We went up the stairs and in her bath room, I started pulling out hair stuff and getting her strainer and curler heating up.
“Ashley, Come and help me pick some thing to wear!” So walked into her closet. I think every time I come in her closet it gets bigger and bigger!
“OK lets get started!! Hum……..” I pulled out a purple dress and set it on the bed while mom got her shoes, necklaces and ear rings out and in. But I didn’t like the way it looked
When she put it on so I went back to the closet and pulled out 3 more dresses and none of them looked right but finally I pulled out a hot pink sun dress, That was the one!
I never thought I would ever think that my mom was “Hot” In my life!J
“Ring” “Ring” Went my phone at about 3:30. “Hello?” I answered hoping it was Chris…It was! Yey!! “Hey Ashley! You can come over now I have all my books out and mom is finally home from getting her hair done!”

“OK sounds good but my Mom is having a date and I kinda would like to meet him so could I come over after I meet him?” I really hope I am not hurting his feelings.

“No problem! I would like to hear more about this “date” when you come over.” It sounded like he was smiling right now.

I laughed and then sighed. “OK. I will see in about on hour! Bye!” I hung up the phone and told mom what I was planning on doing then when on my laptop and checked my “Myface” Jenny was on but for some reason she didn’t talk to me, But it really didn’t bother me. By the time I was done checking “Myface” Mom’s “date” Was here!
The door bell rang and I went running down the stairs and mom was about to open the door. “Mom!! No I am going to open the door! I am the one meeting him and then I got to get going, Chris is excepting me soon.” I nudged mom away from the door and opened the door and saw a tallish guy with dark drown hair and soft brown eyes, Wearing a black shirt and black pants with a………Pink[?] Tie!! He matches mom!! How cool is that!
“Hi there, You must me Ashley [ I nodded, I was still lost in his soft brown eyes] I’m Jeffry but you can call me Jeff.” He smiled and waited for me to answer.
‘Oh…OK nice to meat you Jeff. Come on in” We walked over to the stairs where mom was standing she looked at me and winked. Jeff didn’t see hopefully.
“OK Grace are you ready to go?” He said with a smile.

School!

Hey!! I just started school today!:(
But it was not that bad! I got done for the day at lunch time!
I am just doing the review right now so it is suppose to be easy.
Oh yeah i was not home on Sunday so here's another chapter to my book!

What am I going to say to Nick?
What if he beats me up or what he…….I am scared.
Oh my gosh! What am I going to say to Chris? What he asked that one girl out!
What if that girl is me or what if its not me? What am I going to do!! I thought as I drove to school about all the “what ifs”.
As I pulled up Jenny was next to her car waiting for me I think.
I get out of my car and walked up, Jenny saw me and came running with her arms ready to give me a huge.
“AH!!!!!!!!!!”I said as she is running toured me.
She came running and gave me a huge hug.
“Ashley!!! Why are you late” As she talked I looked into her eyes and I saw pain and sadness, It made me feel really bad for her but I could not let her see it.
“I’m late?” Realizing that she was right!
“Yeah class is starting in about……[Looking at her watch] 3 minutes!” For some reason she looked very prod of her self.
“Then why are you out here and not in class?” So I started making my way to the door.
“ I don’t know I thought I would wait for you! We have the same class period. If you were late so was I! Oh yeah and I wanted to say thanks for everything you really are the best!” “Your not so bad your self!” I winced at her as we walked into class.
“Girls!! You are late!” Said Mrs. White.
“Sorry Mrs. White, It was my fault that Jenny was late I fell asleep late and forgot to set my alarm.” I new that Jenny would be mad that I said that it was my fault but I really didn’t mind it that much. I turned and looked at Jenny and she was glaring at me now.
In a whisper she said “You will pay for that” With a small smile I turned and sat next to……Are you kidding!! Nick!! Out of all the places the only seat was next to Nick! GREAT! *Sigh*
Jenny turned around and saw why I was sighing and whispered” Never mind!” With a little laugh she turned around.
It was lunch now so Jenny and I sat at our usual place and Chris came over right as Jenny and I were talking about what happened with Nick.
“OK that was funny!! I told you were going to pay and you did!! Hahahahah!!! You have no idea how funny that was!!!” Jenny was really enjoying herself right now.
Chris walked up and asked “What’s so funny?” As he sat I told him.
“I made Jenny late for class and I told Mrs. White that it was my fault and Jenny said that I was going to pay then to make it worse I had to sat next to Nick then when Jenny turned around she said “Maybe not” and she just thinks it hilarious, but I don’t find it very funny.”
“Oh……OK then, do you mind if Kate sits with us today?” Why is she wanting to sit with us? I thought she hated us? That’s why she doesn’t talk to me of Jenny. As I was thinking she walked up and sat next to Jenny.
“Hi Jenny, Ashley. How’s it goin?” I think she just wanted to get us talking or just small talk but I really didn’t want to talk to her! “She stole ‘My Best friend!’ oh well.”
“School is OK I guess but its getting a bit boring now, But its good. I can’t wait for Graduation! Its coming up I think…….” I said relishing that it is really coming up in about……I am not sure but Christmas is coming up. So its December now, “Wow! This year is really going fast!”
“Yeah, I know this year has gone by fast.” I didn’t say that out loud!! Did I? How did she know that? Or did I say that out loud?
“Um…….Ashley? Will you help me get an Apple?” I was about to answer her but she didn’t wait, she grabbed my arm and drug me away. Why? “Why?” Now I am really confused. “Do you know what you just said out loud!!!??” I think she was mad but I am really sure.
“No what did I do? Or say?……..OH!!!! Was I thinking out loud?!! I’ve been doing that a lot lately!”
“Yeah you said ‘She stole me best friend!!!!” Ok she has a right to be mad, Now but why was she mad?
“Oh my……….Do you think he heard??”
“I think he did cause his face went red and turned away and laughed a bit. Does he know that you talk to your self out loud?”
“Yah!! This is bad!! Oh well I can’t take it back! We better go back.”
“You really are going to go back and pretend that nothing is wrong?”
“Yeah why?”
“No you are not going to you are going to class now! I will tell them that you are meating the teacher early cause you needed help! Go!!”
“Thanks Jenny but my teacher is sitting over there!! Oh well make up anything….Tell him that I was going to talk to nick cause he wanted to talk to me! And Nick is over there! Bye Jenny!” I turned and walked to Nick. What was I going to say to him! Why did I have to say that? “Hey Nick, How’s it going?” How’s it going?? Oh my gosh! That’s like asking….Never mind!
“……Are you talking to me?” He looked around him and then back to me.
“Yeah you’re the only Nick in this hallway.” I said trying not to hurt him for hurting Jenny! I could talk to him about jenny! That’s what I could do!
“Um……..I am OK, But not to seem mean but you never talk to me.?”
“Oh yeah, Sorry about that but I just wanted to know why you broke up with Jenny, She was heart broken.” Now I knew what I was doing so it flowed like I have been practicing even thought I kinda was!
“Oh……..I just thought that I need a my space and I think Chris is happy now that I left her alone, Since he said he liked her, So I did her a fever. But I am know available now.” He wicked at me!! I almost Barfed!
“Ashley are you ok?” I guess I looked like I was going to barf!
“Yeah I am OK I think. I just need to get to class. See you later Nick.” I turned and started walking back to my lunch table cause I forgot my backpack.
“Hey Guys I forget my backpack.” I said trying not to make eye contact with any one.
“Here you go.” Chris said, Handing my backpack to me.
“Thanks” I turned and started to walk away but Chris caught up with me and started asking my questions. “Hey Ash-Ash.’ What did he call me? “Hey Chris Chris”I said trying to mock him but I really didn’t work cause he started to laugh. “Good one Ash.”
“What’s up Chris?” As I said it came out a bit harsh.
“Oh……Are you made at me?” Shoot! I am not mad a him!!
“How could I be mad at you Chris? You’re my Best friend?” When I said that my Cheeks went red!! Great I am blushing!! I thought to my self.“Oh OK you said some thing in the lunch rooom...but I would like to see it you could…..Would……Help me with my Caucuses?” He sighed and then stopped right in front of my class room door waiting for me to answer him. “I am not sure what day?”

“Sure over your house of mine?” Hoping that it would be over his place.

“OK see you later tomorrow.” He turned and walked away.

The Search: ~Chapter 12~

~ Chapter 12 ~
As I walked to my lunch table I saw Kate sitting alone…That was weird! Oh well.
Then I saw Chris sitting with Jenny….and not with Kate, Right as I walk up jenny said hi and Chris didn’t but he did look up and nod his head, I think that’s cause he had food in his mouth.-He’s cute with his mouth full…….Stay on track Ashley!-
“Hey Jenny, Chris.” I said trying not to sound suspicious.
After Chris’s mouth was empty he said hi.

“Chris, Why aren’t you sitting with Kate? Oh yeah, How was the dance I have not asked you yet.”

“Oh about that………The dance was fine I guess, I kinda wish you were there.
It was fun till everyone started to dance and Kate wanted to dance but I can’t dance that well. I can but not in public!J

“Oh..” I said trying not to laugh. That would be rude to laugh at some one who can’t dance, When I can’t either.

“Yeah, But I think Kate and I should take a break…..”

“Oh………Is there some one else? I know its not my business, If you don’t want to tell me its OK.” I really want to know if there is some one else!! I really hope he tells me!

“Yeah I think there is some one else. But Kate was my first real girl friend and I really hope that is all……I have one girl in mind but I am not sure if she likes me, So I am just going to keep my distance cause I don’t want to make it weird between us. Oh well! But I have to go to class now so I will see you later.” He turned and walked away, I think he knew that I was watching him cause he turned and waved to me at the other end of the lunch room, Oh course my face went red so I turned my head so he could not see my face.

When I got home mom was watching TV in the family room and my Brother was on the computer so I thought I would hang out in my room and call Jenny or even Chris but I thought I would do my bible study and then call Jenny. So I pulled out my Bible, and started reading and just having along time. I spent an hour just reading, then my phone stared ringing so I answered it.
“Hello?”
“Hey Ash….” It was Jenny, I kinda sounded like she was in tears.
“ Jenny?” I said kinda confused, She didn’t sound happy like she usually sounded.
“ Yes, Its Jenny.”
“What’s the matter you don’t sound like yourself?”
-Now she was really crying- “Its about Nick……….He left me!! He said that I was not him type and that the only reason he “Liked” me was cause of you!” Now she was Crying SO loud that it sounded like she was on the speaker.
“Oh Jen!! I am sorry he left you…….But not to be mean but I think I warned you.” I said but now I think it would have been better if I left the last part out but it was to late.
“Yeah I know I didn’t listen to you, I am really sorry that I didn’t.”
“Its OK Jenny, I’m not mad at you, I am just mad at Nick. Don’t worry I am going to smack some sense in him tomorrow. Don’t worry everything will be OK. I promise.”

“Really? Do you really think that?” Now she sounded like she was starting to feel better.

“ I know so.”

“You know Ash, You are the BEST friend a girl could have!J” I could tell she was smiling now.

“Aw……Thanks Jenny! What if I pick your next boy friend. Maybe I could find a guy that would like you for you and not for your BFF, Ha Ha.” I bet I could find some one that really liked her that was not a jerk. I’m kinda good at it.


“That would GREAT! Or could I just have Chris?” It kinda sound like she was not kidding. I wanted to yell at her but I knew that she was in pain so I didn’t yell so loud.

“NO……….He is still mine!”

“I thought you said you didn’t like him? Oh wait….That was Nick………Oh Nick!!! I miss him!!!” Oh my gosh! She started to cry again!

“Jenny!!! Calm yourself!! Please!! Goodness.”*Sigh*

“Ok I think I am OK now…..”She took a deep breath then I think she was all better.

“OK Jenny I have to go but I will see you tomorrow.”

“OK I will be there! Later!” Jenny said as she hung up.
Now it was just me and myself in my room. I am going to give Nick a piece of my mind!! He is gong to pay for what he did to Jenny!

The Sreach: ~Chapter 11~

~ Chapter 11 ~
Finally it was Monday again! Yay! I can’t wait to see him! But I am not sure I am going to tell him the way I fell yet….But I am going to at lest try!J As I pulled up to the school, I think fear was getting the best out of me. I am just going to play it by ear, hopefully I would get through today alive. I saw Nick first, So I walked up to him and where everyone was.
“Hey Nick.” With not that much enthusiasm, He didn’t seam to notice.

“Hi Ashley. What’s up?” Said Nick sounding like he really didn’t care that much.

“Do you know where Chris is? Or Jenny?”
“No I am not sure where Chris is but Jenny is in the “Lady’s Room” Ha Ha!”
“Oh OK bye, see you at lunch…..Maybe.” I said really trying to be nice but it was not working. As I walked way it felt he was making fun out of me, it got me really mad but I really didn’t know what he was doing. So I finally found Jenny and told her that I chickening out.
“Oh Ash!! You can’t!! You have to tell him! I know you can do it! “

“Yeah, I know I can but I am scared that I am going to be rejected!” I said trying not to tear up. The weird thing was I was not tearing up!

“Oh honey! I know how you feel! But you have to!”

“I yeah I know but I am not going to tell him! If he could not wait for me then I am not going to waste my time with him!” OK, now I was tearing up! Man, why do I do that!

“ Aw…Ashley come here….”-giving me a hug, trying to make me feel better. But I knew what I had to do even thought I didn’t want to do it. So I went to find Chris. I saw Kate in the distance. I also saw Chris and he was talking with her, So I thought I would give them a minute. OK so I am try by time…..I am scared what do you expect. But just as they were done talk I had to get to class so I will talk to him when I am on my way to Speech.

~Chapter 10~
When I got home that’s when I think it really hit me that we were never going to be,
I think when he said we were only to be fiends it felt like my heart broke in to. I know that I was the one who said that but when he said it hurt more. So I thought I would call Jenny and see what she had to say. Ring……Ring. “Hello?”
“Hey Jenny Its Ashley.”

“Oh hey what’s up?”

“Nothing much its just that I am going crazy!” I said almost in tears.

“Oh hun! Its OK! Wait……Why are you going “Crazy?” Jenny said sounding like she was trying not to laugh.

“Its Chris! He has a girl- And he is taking her to the dance!…….” I could not even say girl and friend in the same sentence.

“Oh…….Yeah about that….I am Very sorry but he can’t wait forever. You know that.”

“Yeah I know but if he could not wait for me then I guess we were not to be…”It really hurt to say that, The thing that I didn’t get was we were just friends! We were nothing…Just really good friends! Why did it hurt?….Did I love him?

“Ash….Are you still there?” Jenny said. While sighing.

“Yeah I am here…I have a question…”I said really wishing that I didn’t say it.

“Sure Ash. What’s the question.” Said Jenny. She really did sound concerned. Cause I was always there when she needed me so I guess she was just trying to return the favor. “OK, Do you think I………I loved him?I said REALLY wish that I had just kept it to myself. There was a about 20 seconds or weird silence then she finally spoke.

“Oh Ashley!! I really didn’t want to say anything but yes I think you do love him!
The way you look at him. Its like hes the only guy in the world, You don’t even look at other guys……I am not saying that you should but Yes I think you do!” Jenny said Sounding like that she was wishing that she didn’t say it but I know she had to.
“Oh Jenny!! I think your right!! I do……..Love……Him!” I said while in tears.

“Oh Honey! I wish I could be there in person, But I am with Nick right now, I think he is kinda getting upset cause we are with him Mom and Dad, So I will see you tomorrow!!”

“Wait Jenny!! I am going to tell Chris the way I feel tomorrow! Do you think I should?”

“Eh………I think it would best to, So yes! Good luck Girly! Bye! ! Jenny said,
I knew what I needed to do!
Monday at school he was not there. Where was he? Was he sick? Go on a trip? So I thought I would ask Kate casue I asked Jenny and she said she didn’t know, I even asked Nick and he said he didn’t care………So I finally found Kate.
“Hey Kate! Do you know where Chris is?”

“Yeah, He went some missions trip with his church, I am kinda surprised that he didn’t tell you! You guys are Best Friends.” said Kate, It kinda sounded a little jealous.

“Oh…..No he didn’t tell me…..That’s weird but thanks! Oh yeah do you know when he will be back?”
“Yeah! He will be back next Monday!” She sounded very excited about that.

“ Thanks! Bye!” I had to go to English now but what was I going to do this week with out him? Maybe I could txt him or call him….Wait probably its not the best idea.
So I walked to class by myself It felt that I was about to cry but I knew that I wouldn’t , I hope! The day passed really slow. But the week was worse! It felt that every minute was an hour and ever hour was a day! So on Wednesday I went to church and talked to the pastor, But he was not very good help he just said that I should pray about it and read my Bible a bit more! So I was going to do it and maybe get some answers!

The Search: ~Chapter 9~

~Chapter 9~
On Monday Ashley went to school and she didn’t see any of her friends till lunch except at lunch, She saw Jenny sitting alone at a table eating her lunch so she goes up to her and sits with her. “Hi Jenny. I didn’t see you this morning? Did you come in late?
Ashley curiously said. “No I was here but I met Nick in Lit and we jut got talking and I lost track of time but other then that, I am REALLY sorry Ashley! You know he was a jerk anyway! Are you mad at him?” Jenny said.
“What mad at who and whose a jerk?? Is it some one that I know?” Right know Ashley was very confused at this point. “You mean you don’t know?” Jenny said wish that she never said anything about it. “No what?? What’s going on?” Ashley said slowly getting mad and upset cause Jenny was not telling her. “I said do you know about that?” Jenny said pointing past Ashley. So Ashley turned and looked and saw Chris with Kate Cardin.
“OK?? What’s the matter? Its just Kate? What’s the big deal? Ashley asked Jenny.
“you are just going to have to ask Chris that. I can’t tell you. And I have to meet Nick in Science class. Bye. “Jenny said trying to hold back the tears even though Ashley had no idea what she was taking about. For some reason she didn’t catch on till Jenny walked away and Chris came over and sat next to her and Kate sat next to him.
“Hi Ashley I have not seen you in a while.” Chris joked.
“Yeah, oh hi Kate?” Ashley said. “Do you mind if I sit with you and Chris?” Kate asked.
“Not at all” Ashley said even though she minded a hole lot!
“I am going to get some Dp, Chris would you please come with me? Ashley asked trying to get away from Kate so that they could talk alone. “Sure I guess. Be back Kate.”Chris said as he was getting up. They walked to the fountain so Ashley thought that would be far enough so Kate could not hear. “Chris, why are you hanging out with Kate?”
Ashley said even thought she knew the answer. “What? You mean you don’t know? I am taking her to the dance with me and we are also going out.” Chris said. “Why Kate out of all the girls Kate!!” Ashley exclaimed but not to loud cause people would start to look. “I gave you a chance and you said no! Any ways you even said that we are only friend and that’s all we will ever be.” Said Chris as he was walking away. For about 2 weeks we didn’t talk to hang out at all.

Click, Beep beep beep, ‘Oh he hung up, Oh well!” said Ashley a little mad.
“So Ashley, What did he say?” Asked Jenny curiously.
“Um…….[With a deep breath she started to tell Jen what had happened]
Well he said it was OK and he understands that I am not ready for a relation ship and some thing about him being really and hes OK with it! And then he said he had to go cause he was meet someone…..” Ashley said kind of confused.
“Oh I am SO sorry but kinda glad at lest you got that out of your way.
But do you know who he was going to meet?” Jenny said.
“No, I will ask him tomorrow at school. Wait or would that make me sound like I am jealous?” Ashley asked. “No I don’t think so……well just ask him what he was doing last night other than talking to you. And see what happens!” Jenny said.
“OK I really like him but I am not sure he still likes me! I don’t know what to do!!
“ASHLEY you know what to do just you are freaking out!! Just calm down!! OK! Jen said.
“OK I think I am OK know thanks Jen! You really are my best friend!” Ashley said while giving her a big huge! “Oh yeah Ashley I better be getting home…. My cat will be mad at me!!HaHa! Jen trying to tell a joke! “OK I will see you Monday!!” Jenny said while giving her another hug!
